You’ve probably heard this before: “Just give value and the sales will come.”
Well, that’s not always the case, because:
If all you do is give value, but nobody sees it? You’ll be invisible.
If you push for visibility without delivering value? You’ll lose trust.
If you focus only on sales? You’ll burn out your audience before they become loyal.
So how do you create content that builds trust, gets seen, and sells without sounding like a megaphone or a motivational quote machine?
1. Solve a Problem
Teach your audience something or show them the difference between where they are and should be.
This is how to offer value, deliver clarity, show results, and build your brand’s credibility.
For example, as a writer, you can create content on:
Writing tips that save time.
Insights on content marketing trends.
Step-by-step guide for achieving a goal.
Success stories
This makes people remember you when they have a related problem to solve.
📌 Quick check-in: Are you teaching something useful at least once a week?
2. Be Strategically Present
Visibility helps your audience find you. Note that visibility is not about being everywhere.
It’s being present where your audience hangs out. Also, it’s showing up with intention, not noise.
Instead of saying something no one ever hears, do these:
Repurpose your best posts.
Use hooks that stop the scroll.
Collaborate with other creators.
Engage with your audience’s comments.
📌 Quick check-in: Are you re-sharing or re-formatting content that performed well?
3. Offer Help
Here’s the thing about sales: If you’ve nailed value and visibility, selling won’t feel pushy. It’ll feel like the next logical step.
At this point of sale, make it about your audience-not you. This makes your audience feel seen, heard, and understood.
Instead of:
❌ “I will help you draft a content calendar that make you stay consistent online.”
✔️ “You’ll get a content calendar that helps you stay consistent online.”
So, while trying to sell:
Be clear about how people can work with you. Do they drop a comment on a post, send a DM, or fill out a form?
Share past wins.
Talk about the results your past clients got.
📌 Quick check-in: Have you made an offer or opened a conversation this week?
Always remember that content that works long-term has all three:
Value (so people trust you)
Visibility (so people find you)
Sales (so people pay you)
To get the desired results from your content, you shouldn’t choose from the three. Layer them, instead.
